Sports Illustrated 2019 cover star Camille Kostek and boyfriend Rob Gronkowski have made a massive donation to help the fight against COVID-19.

The couple just donated 20,000 KN95 medical masks to health care providers at Boston Medical Center and St. Joseph’s Healthcare Network in New Jersey.

MJ Day, the SI Swimsuit Editor-In-Chief whose husband is a physician at St. Joseph’s, was ‘moved beyond words’ as she posted a heartfelt thank you message to the couple for their extreme generosity.

Generous: Sports Illustrated 2019 cover star Camille Kostek, 28 and boyfriend Rob Gronkowski, 30, have just donated 20,000 medical masks to two hospitals fighting COVID-19

‘They just donated 10,000 KN95 masks to both @sjhnj and @bostonmedicalcenter. And I am moved beyond words. But this type of generosity deserves words. On a personal note, I have been appealing to people to #stayinandsew #flattenthecurve and support their local hospitals and caregivers in need.’ Day wrote on Instagram.

‘My husband is a physician at @sjhnj and many of our friends and colleagues are on the front lines there fighting this pandemic.

‘Like many of the hospitals in the epicenter of this war, they are critically short on supplies. Especially masks. What Camille and Rob have done for this hospital, the caregivers, the patients, and the community made me cry tears of joy.

‘It’s been restorative to my faith that we can make a difference no matter how big or small. It shows me that the type of people that I get to work with care about me and you just as much as we care about them.’

Day ended her message, ‘Make a mask, stay home, donate, use your platform. Do what you can, because it all matters. These masks equate to lives saved. Period. Thank you.’

In recent weeks Day has been posting passionate pleas for help and donations of PPE supplies for the medical staff at overwhelmed hospitals as the US fights the coronavirus pandemic.

Medical workers across the country are for clamoring for equipment, which is in short supply, to protect themselves from infection as they deal with the flood of virus victims.

It’s not known how Kostek and Gronkowski obtained so many masks when hospitals -and the federal government – are struggling to get their hands on them, but their extremely generous act will go a long way to help protect health workers in Boston and New Jersey which has emerged as one of the epicenters of the outbreak.
