Heather Locklear ‘tipped Ventura County Sheriff $1,500’ for charity… and filmed Tonight Show cameo

Eighties TV icon Heather Locklear has been finding ways to give back to her local police station two years after being arrested for allegedly punching a deputy and kicking an EMT.

The troubled 58-year-old left a $1,500 tip benefitting Special Olympics at one of the Ventura County Sheriff’s ‘Tip-A-Cop’ event where law enforcement serves as waiters at a restaurant, according to TMZ.

Heather – who celebrated one year of sobriety on April 21 – has also reportedly bought cops coffee and made an effort to say hello to Sheriff’s deputies around town.

Locklear avoided a 120-day jail sentence last August by completing a 30-day residential rehab stay in a mental health facility after pleading no contest to eight misdemeanors – including five counts of battery on a peace officer and one count of battery on emergency personnel.

The six-time Golden Globe nominee is quarantining at her Thousand Oaks mansion with her 90-year-old father Bill and her 87-year-old mother Diane.

Heather is also getting ‘extra support’ from her dog and 22-year-old daughter Ava Sambora from her second marriage to Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, which ended in 2007.

‘She is gardening, taking walks and cooking like a fiend,’ a source told People last week.

‘She cooks for herself, Ava and her parents. It’s very sweet.’

Locklear was supposed to attend Ava’s graduation from Loyola Marymount University this month, but it was postponed indefinitely due to the global coronavirus pandemic.

On Friday, the Dynasty alum made a quick cameo in The Tonight Show soap opera parody The Longest Days of Our Lives alongside Jimmy Fallon, Jake Gyllenhaal, Kristen Wiig, Will Ferrell, and Susan Lucci.

And last Tuesday, Heather remotely reunited with her Melrose Place castmates for Stars In The House‘s hour-long benefit for The Actors Fund.

‘It was pretty fun [playing the bad girl]. Since I don’t normally do that in real life,’ Locklear said.

‘I don’t behave like that, maybe sometimes. But, it was super fun. It was very fun. You know, people like that kind of attitude…There’s so many fights. Scratching, I guess, that’s what girls fight are…It would be fun to play Amanda [Woodward] again.’

Before her acting hiatus, the SoCal native was last seen onscreen doing guest star gigs in episodes of TLC’s Too Close to Home and ABC’s Fresh Off the Boat in 2017.
