Billie Faiers and Greg Shepherd’s plans to renovate 1920s home hang in the balance

Billie Faiers and Greg Shepherd’s plans of transforming their 1920s house into their dream home lies in jeopardy.

According to The Sun, the couple’s soon-to-be neighbours are opposed to designs because it would mean the property is ‘overly high’ and ‘too close to the boundary’ of the adjacent home.

The Mummy Diaries star, 30, has previously admitted the interior of the sprawling house is ‘old and dated’ and estimated it will take the couple around a year to completely renovate it.

Clash with the neighbours: Billie Faiers and Greg Shepherd’s plans of transforming their 1920s house into their dream home lies in jeopardy

Plans submitted to Brentwood Borough council include creating five bedrooms, a dressing room, a study, lounge and a kitchen/ diner.

Neighbours are said to be particularly annoyed about the conversion of the garage into a gym and games room because of its proposed height, which they argue could impact on their privacy.

In the planning documents submitted to Brentwood Borough Council, neighbours said: ‘The proposed extended house will be significantly higher and larger in terms of its footprint than the surrounding houses.

‘The design by reason of the large expanse of roof and the bulky two-storey extension of the garage is overly high and appears to be top-sided and bulky.”

‘The proposed house is too close to the boundary with No 10. The Easterly flank of the proposed extension will be about 0.6m from the boundary with No 10.’

Billie revealed the state of their current kitchen back in April on their home Instagram ‘homewiththesheps’.

The snap was of their blue tiled kitchen, which appeared to not have been redecorated since the 1980s, with its white cabinets and blue work surfaces, serving hatch and vinyl flooring.

One of the rooms at the front of the house, which one day might serve as a beautiful reception room, is currently full of clutter with a dining table in the centre of the room and an electric fireplace.

‘As you can see the kitchen in its current state is very old and dated … we are going to be completely changing this layout as we are extending across the back of the house to create a much bigger space.

‘Which will become a kitchen / dining area / sofa area (all open plan) with a play room separately at one end and utility room at the other end.

Billie recently revealed they won’t be able to move into their ‘dream family home’ for at least a year.

Talking to HELLO!, she said: ‘We got the keys at the end of January but it’s a huge project, a big renovation. We are going in blind because we’ve never done it before and we are starting from scratch.

‘The architect has been in and for what we want to do, it’s going to be at least a year or a year and a half until it is safe for us to live in, so we are going to stay where we are for now.’
