Camila Alves shared a throwback snap of her family as she celebrated five years of being a US citizen on Tuesday.
The American-Brazilian model, 38, uploaded a snap of herself with husband Matthew McConaughey, 50, and their children on Memorial Day as she received her citizenship back in 2015.
In a post shared on her Instagram, Camila told how she was ‘proud to be part of this country’ as she marked five years since her special day.

In her picture, herself and Matthew posed with their three adorable children, Levi, who is now 11, Vida, now 10, and Livingston, now seven following the VIP legal oath ceremony, which was held at the United States Court House in Los Angeles.
She captioned the image: ‘Five years ago I was grateful to receive my American citizenship and everyday I am proud to be a part of this country.
‘For the soldiers and workers who have fought hard for our rights and freedom thank you, today and everyday. #MemorialDay.’

Camila received her citizenship at the same time as actress Emily Blunt, who attended the court house alongside her husband John Krasinski.
In August 2015, Intersteller star Matthew tweeted his joy about his wife receiving her citizenship.
He tweeted at the time: ‘Congratulations Camila on getting your U.S. citizenship today – another fellow and great American.’

But the Oscar-winning star was not the only one delighted with the development, as the Latina beauty, who worked as a maid when she first came the to US, shared the image with her own fans and sent them a message.
The mother-of-three said: ‘First day back and look what I just went thru. It is with great pride and honor that I am happy to say I now hold an American passport!
‘I have so much respect and appreciation for this country… #newuscitizen.’
Matthew married Camila back in June 2012, six years after they started dating.

Camila told The View back in 2013 she worked as a maid when she first came to the States at the age of 19, and that she could barely speak English at the time.

She said: ‘My father always told me, “Before you become a queen you have to learn how to take care of your own things.”
‘So I knew how to do all of it, but I had never really done it on a daily basis. So I was cleaning houses and I started working restaurants.’
Camila grew up in a farming family in Belo Horizonte in Brazil, and at the age of 15 visited her aunt in California and decided she was not going back. After years of hard work she started a career on modelling and has never looked back.
Meanwhile, Camila and Matthew have been doing their part during the COVID-19 pandemic, with the couple taking to the streets to deliver 110,000 masks to those in need on Friday.

Matthew took to social media to open up about their charity initiate which saw them drive to rural Texas to deliver the PPE products to hospitals in need.
‘Thanks to @lincoln for donating 110 thousand masks – me and @camilamcconaughey hitting the road to get em to rural hospitals in need across Texas,’ he captioned the post.
Matthew took control of the wheel and sported a tank top and a bandanna over his head for the ride to the rural areas.
Camila called shotgun and wore a long sleeved top with a sky blue beanie.

Both Matthew and Camila were also taking protective measures by wearing a mask amid the easy spread of the deadly virus.
The Dallas Buyers Club star has continued to speak up regarding taking protective measures throughout lockdown around the country.
‘Science is behind us right now and the mask is about letting science catch up’ he told CNN earlier in the month.
‘It’s about helping the people on the frontline, don’t let happen what happened in New York where there’s two patients for every bed, we’ve got to buy time.’
He continued: ‘A mask is a very good tool for that and I have not heard any science saying that it’s not so I don’t even know how there’s any real argument about wearing a mask or not.’
