Big Brother’s most infamous contestants: Where are they now?

It was the reality show that captivated Australia after premiering on Channel 10 back in 2001.

And many of the stars from Big Brother have gone on to live very different lives since finding fame, with many choosing the quiet life while others have continued to court attention.

Before we are introduced to the housemates on Channel Seven’s upcoming Big Brother reboot, Daily Mail Australia takes a look back at some of the most memorable characters from the iconic series.

A 22-year-old Sara Marie Fedele once wowed Australia with her infamous ‘bum dance’, bunny ears and lovable personality, but she leads a much simpler existence these days.

Sara, 42, is now a mum to a five-year-old daughter and has started up her own business selling personalised grains of rice.

The star made a brief appearance on Studio 10 in 2018 where she once again performed her famous dance.

Pete Timbs: Season One (2001)

He was cast on the original season of the show after winning a radio competition on Triple M.

Almost twenty years after appearing on the program, Pete now lives in the Byron Bay area where he runs an Italian cafe.

Speaking on The Morning show this week, Pete said he still gets recognised from his time on the show. 

‘I was between jobs at the time, and I was looking to move to WA, and this came up,’ he said of the chance encounter.

She was known back then as Reggie Bird when she became the first ever female contestant to win Big Brother in 2003, but her life since then has been plagued with challenges. 

Reggie, who is now a single mum, recently revealed that she struggles to support her two children after she was declared legally blind in 2012.

She’s still recognised on the streets occasionally and hopes to be a part of another TV show to help her have some fun.  

In recent interviews, the 46-year-old has expressed an interesting in starring on either Googlebox or I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

‘I’d love to be a Gogglebox reviewer!’ she tweeted earlier this year.

Winning $836,000 when he came first place, Greg Mathew, 38, is now a multi-millionaire.  

The former reality TV star is now worth a staggering $10 million, after investing in a series of hotels, nightclubs and properties in Newcastle, located north of Sydney.

In yet another unbelievable moment in the 2004 season Trevor Butler won the show, along with $1million and proposed to his then girlfriend Breea.

Trevor said he took the incredible opportunity and prize money to settle down and has two children in their home in Queensland.

Woman’s Day reported Trevor and Breea lived off the interest from the prize money for 12 months, before using it to buy a house on the Gold Coast and multiple cars.

Trevor invested the rest of the money after winning a battle not to pay half the winnings to the Australian Tax Office.

In 2009, Michael Bric told Zoo Weekly that the incident ‘ruined his life’, after he was repeatedly called a rapist on the street.

‘I was branded a rapist on national TV. The hardest part was having no support from anyone.’

He currently works as a Sports Reporter for 111.6 SEN on the Pacific Star Network in Melbourne.
