‘We kind of gave it away when they call us the Fab Four’: Dr Chris Brown responds to claims The Living Room ripped off Queer Eye admitting their are ‘undoubtedly some similarities’

Dr Chris Brown has responded to fans who have claimed the new revamp of Channel 10’s The Living Room is a blatant rip off of the popular U.S. reality series Queer Eye.

The TV host, 41, told News.com.au on Friday that the program, which has been made over to see all the hosts work together to help out the same person, ‘undoubtedly’ has some similarities with the hit US show.

‘We kind of gave it away when they call us the ‘Fab Four’ in the promo,’ he said, referencing Queer Eye’s cast ‘The Fab Five’.

There’s no denying it! Dr Chris Brown (pictured) has responded to rumours that The Living Room ‘ripped off’ Queer Eye, telling News.com.au that there were ‘undoubtedly some similarities’

‘Undoubtedly I think there are some similarities there. We just don’t have the fashion guy, and trust me, given the amount of double-denim that Barry Du Bois is trying to get away with these days, we do desperately need a fashion guy,’ he joked.

The revamped format will see stars Amanda Keller, Chris, Miguel Maestre and Barry DuBois help one person or family overhaul their home each episode.

‘We still work in our passion areas, but at the same time we’re crossing over and helping each other out,’ he explained.

Which means the former vet had to get his hands dirty on some DIY renovation projects, which he describes as being way out of his ‘comfort zone’.

Meanwhile, after Channel 10 released promos for the new series last week, fans rushed to Twitter to point out the similarities with Queer Eye.

‘Is it just me or is The Living Room just like Queer Eye but with no queer eyes and a specific focus on interior design,’ one asked.

Another added: ‘Can The Living Room please stop using Lizzo and blatantly ripping off Queer Eye? It hasn’t even started yet.’

‘The new season of The Living Room on channel ten is gonna be hetero queer eye and you can’t convince me otherwise,’ said another.

The Living Room premiers on Friday at 7.30pm on Channel 10.
