Lucy Hale cheers herself up following the cancellation of Katy Keene

She announced the unfortunate news that her Riverdale spin-off Katy Keene had gotten the ax from The CW the day before.

Lucy Hale tried to get back in the swing of things on Friday by attending a Pilates class in Los Angeles.

The 31-year-old actress revealed her svelte figure athletic clothing while wearing a lacy white mask to help slow the spread of the novel coronavirus

Sticking to routines: Lucy Hale, 31, tried to get back in the swing of things after the cancellation of her show Katy Keene by attending a Pilates class in LA on Friday

Lucy showed off her trim tummy and toned arms in a black cropped tank top, which she paired with gray–blue leggings with white stripes running down the sides.

The 5ft2in Pretty Little Liars star added some fierce leopard print sandals with pale pink socks.

She had her raven tresses parted down the middle and pulled back in a short ponytail.

Though Lucy wore a mask, her Pilates class also required a temperature check before she arrived, and participants needed to sign a waiver before proceeding.

Lucy’s workout may have helped to keep her mind off the loss of her CW series Katy Keene.

The day before, she posted a video to her Instagram announcing the show was finished after a single season.

She revealed she had to do three takes of the three-minute video because she was a ‘blubbering mess’ and couldn’t get through it without breaking into tears.

‘I kind of struggled all day with what I wanted to say about this, or if I shouldn’t say anything, but nothing felt right,’ she began.

She said she didn’t want to ‘post a picture’ because, ‘nothing would do justice to how I feel about Katy Keene, or how I feel about the people involved with it.’

‘Truly, one of the highlights of my life,’ she added, calling the show a ‘total joy from top to bottom.’

Lucy added that she had been on canceled show before, though each time was ‘heartbreaking.’

She started to well up with tears as she called acting, ‘a job that has broken my heart numerous times. This is bad, this is a bad one.’

Although the future isn’t bright for Katy Keene, there may still be hope for the show’s fans.

The initial Deadline report about the cancellation noted that the creators were trying to shop the show around to other networks, including HBO Max, where Katy Keene currently streams.

The new streamer, which combines all of HBO with a variety of WarnerMedia offerings, may be looking to its original offerings with a tie-in to popular CW series Riverdale, from which Katy Keene was spun off.

Lucy starred in the title role as an aspiring fashion designer navigating life in New York City, while Ashleigh Murray provided the Riverdale connection as Josie McCoy, the leader of Josie and the Pussycats.

The series debuted in February and wrapped up its first season in May, though it had lower ratings and softer streaming figures than other CW shows.

Despite that, the network had already ordered 13 new scripts, so the cancellation was somewhat unexpected after that vote of confidence.
