TOWIE’s Bobby Norris reveals the ITVBe show will finally RETURN to filming ‘in a few weeks’ time’

Filming for the new series of the ITVBe was due to kick off in Tenerife in March, but plans were ground to a halt thanks to the coronavirus pandemic.

But Bobby Norris has revealed that TOWIE will finally return to filming ‘in a few weeks’ time’ after a seven month break.

Speaking on FUBAR Radio’s Access All Areas this week, where he’s a guest host, the reality star, 33, shared his excitement to be heading back to work, after producers worked tirelessly to figure out how the stars could safely return.

It’s back! Bobby Norris has revealed that TOWIE will finally return to filming ‘in a few weeks’ time’ after a seven month break

Giving an update on the latest plans for the series, Bobby told co-host Stephen Leng: ‘We had a message recently to say that the team have been working around the clock to kind of logistically figure out how we can do it safely following the government’s guidelines.’

Save for any repeats, TOWIE last appeared appeared on screen back in December for its Christmas special, meaning it has so far been off air for seven months.

Bobby added of the upcoming return: ‘I’m so excited to get back! It’s actually going to feel quite weird!

‘It’s been such a massive part of my life for nine years, so the three and a half, four months during lockdown was weird not having them.

‘But this has kind of become the new normal, this life, so I kinda think it’s gonna be a little bit weird getting back into that routine, but I’m so ready for it… Getting back on camera and catching up with everyone will be really nice!’

It has not been confirmed whether the filming is for the much anticipated 10th anniversary series, which is tipped to see original cast mates make a return.

However, Bobby did hint that filming may recommence in the show’s favourite haunts and famous locations as lockdown restrictions have began to ease.

He added: ‘TOWIE is filmed predominantly in bars, restaurants, nightclubs, so up until Saturday, they still weren’t open.

‘So unless we filmed a whole series in parks and fields, which wouldn’t make for the best telly! I think logistically they’ve really worked around the clock and the team have been so good.’

Last month ITVBe bosses confirmed that fans will get their fix of Essex drama this Autumn, with the show set to air two episodes a week.

It was also confirmed that to celebrate TOWIE’s 10th Anniversary many of the show’s most iconic stars, tipped to include Mark Wright and Amy Childs, will be appearing in guest roles throughout the series.

For the new series, TOWIE will return to its previous broadcast pattern by airing episodes on both Sundays and Wednesdays.

Along with giving fans to catch up on what stars such as Amber Turner, Chloe Sims and Olivia Attwood have been up to during the lockdown, there will also be surprise appearances from some of the show’s biggest stars from the past decade.

Last series saw the famous county more action-packed than ever before, with Dan and Amber choosing the ditch Chloe Simms’ birthday causing even more tension between the trio.

Elsewhere Olivia was caught up in ‘olive-gate’ and clashed with the girls left, right and centre, and Harry finally asked Frankie to be his girlfriend.

Head of Unscripted for Lime Pictures Sarah Tyekiff said ‘We are so excited to get the iconic TOWIE back on people’s screens, twice a week, for what is going to be a huge Anniversary season.

‘It’ll be back with a bang to celebrate 10 phenomenal years with our amazing cast and see the return of some very familiar faces. What happens in Essex, won’t stay in Essex!’
