Joey Fatone discusses ‘being friend-zoned by Pink’ after saying he ‘asked her out a few times’

Some things were just never meant to be.

Joey Fatone participated in People Magazine‘s latest episode of Defend Yourself, and during the chat he opened up about the object of one of his previous romantic pursuits: none other than fellow pop star Pink.

The *NSYNC star, 43, was put on the spot about having been put in the ‘friend zone’ with the Raise Your Glass songstress.

‘I’m cool with being in the friend zone with Pink. There’s nothing wrong with that,’ Joey remarked.

‘I’m OK with rejection. I mean heck, I’ve been in *NSYNC a lot, so I can take rejection,’ he added jokingly. 

But Fatone also wanted to ‘set the record straight’ about how things really went down with Pink, now 41, at the time.

‘I didn’t tell or ask her dad that I wanted to take her out and I loved her. If this is what you’re referring to here,’ he specified.

‘I actually asked her out a few times and we went out,’ Joey later added.

‘We were cool as heck. But I guess I wasn’t her type, so that was it. We were still friends. That was it!’

The My Big Fat Greek Wedding star, of course, went on to marry his wife Kelly Baldwin in 2004.

The pair have two daughters together, Briahna Joely, 19, and Kloey Alexandra, 11.

As for Pink, she has been with her husband Carey Hart since 2006.

The pair also share two children: daughter Willow Sage, nine, and son Jameson Moon, four.
