She’s an iconic performer who has been an inspiration to music fans for generations.

And now Tina turner will be the subject of a brand new and intimate-looking documentary on HBO Max, coming next month.

In the teaser trailer for the doc, which dropped on Tuesday, the 81-year-old singer and actress sat down to be interviewed about her life both before and after finding fame and fortune.

The trailer begins with a shot of Tina in the present day, sitting down for a chat as a voice off-camera says, ‘This is interview one, take one.’ 

She reflects on memories of her mother from childhood, as footage from her home state of Tennessee soon transform into clips from her early life on stage.

Soon, Tina is heard identifying herself as ‘a girl from a cotton field that pulled myself above the destruction and the mistakes.’

Her iconic hit Proud Mary is also heard, as she concludes the voiceover with, ‘And I’m here for you!’

According to HBO, the documentary will feature interviews with Oprah Winfrey and former MTV News anchor Kurt Loder, along with actress Angela Bassett, who was nominated for an Academy Award for her portrayal of Turner in the 1993 film What’s Love Got To Do With It.

Tina‘s husband of eight years Erwin Bach as well as playwright Katori Hall will also appear in the film.

Hall is the writer of Tina – The Tina Turner Musical, which premiered on Broadway in 2019.

The movie will premiere on HBO Max on March 27th.
