Rita Ora puts on a leggy display in a lilac gingham dress and strappy pink heels

Rita Ora highlighted her slender pins in a lilac mini dress and pink ankle tie heels on Thursday after it was announced she will be replaced by Strictly’s Oti Mabuse for the first series of The Masked Dancer.

The singer, 30, whose reputation has been rocked by two COVID rule-breaking scandals, is the only Masked Singer judge not returning for the new series – with Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan and Davina McCall and Joel Dommett on board.

However, she appeared to brush off the recent news as she showcased her chic sense of style in her gingham number and worked her best angles for an Instagram video.

Rita’s dress boasted a scalloped trim, white collar and buttons.

She added a pop of colour with shimmering turquoise nail polish which contrasted against her hot pink footwear from her ShoeDazzle collection.

Rita made sure to accesorise with a selection of gold jewellery while showing off more foot candy from her new line.

The songstress styled her blonde tresses in a toussled wave and enhanced her visage with a slick of make-up.

The post comes after it was confirmed that Rita will not be joining her fellow Masked Singer judges on The Masked Dancer.

The new show will see 12 celebrity contestants perform unique dances, whilst covered from head to toe in extravagant, colourful costumes and masks, leaving the viewers and star panel to guess their identities. It is due to air in late Spring.

Two-time Strictly champion Oti, 30, who was previously a judge on the now-defunct The Greatest Dancer, said: ‘I’m so thrilled and honoured to be joining the panel on The Masked Dancer.

‘I’m a huge fan of The Masked Singer and I loved the US Masked Dancer so I just can’t wait to start on this show. As a dancer I will be watching the dancers intently looking for clues – it’s going to be so much fun!!!’

Rita is currently in Australia where she will appear as a judge on The Voice.

She commented: ‘The Masked Dancer is going to be sooo much fun I can’t wait to watch you all. Sending so much love all the way from Australia.’

Jonathan, 60, said: ‘What people don’t know is that secretly I am an expert in dance and can spot a ball change from a box step no problem. The title of best detective on the panel is most certainly coming my way!’

Mo, 33, said: ‘I love The Masked Singer. It’s a crazy bit of joy, which we all need right now – so when ITV asked if I wanted to join The Masked Dancer I, of course, said a huge yes!

‘I’m really looking forward to getting back with the team for another brilliant series.’

Davina, 53, said: ‘I love playing detective and I love dancing so what could be better?! I’m currently swotting up on all things dance in preparation and I will be watching those celebrity feet like a hawk.

‘They always have such an amazing cast on The Masked Singer so it could literally be anyone hiding and dancing behind those masks and that’s what makes it so exciting.’

Joel, 35, added: ‘Well, this is set to be an amazing fun twist…will someone do the twist?!

‘The Masked Dancer is that little bit of silly fun our lives need right now and I’m so excited to be hosting it.

‘I’m looking forward to some incredible costumes, epic performances and accidentally saying Masked Singer at least five times.’

Katie Rawcliffe, ITV’s Head of Entertainment Commissioning said: ‘The Masked Singer is a huge hit for ITV and our viewers can’t get enough of this colourful guessing game.

‘The Masked Dancer will build on that success and create a new format that will be just as much fun and entertaining for our viewers.’

Last month a source told The Mirror: ‘Viewers have been watching Rita on Saturday nights for weeks, but the Masked Singer was recorded way before her birthday bash at the end of November.

‘Such a lot of effort goes into keeping the talent and crew safe while making it – many people felt let down by the way Rita behaved. She has not done herself any favours.’

While discussing current Glitterball champion Oti as a possible replacement for the reported show, they added: ‘Everyone’s very hopeful that she’ll sign.’

However a source close to Rita claimed the snub was a scheduling issue, telling MailOnline: ‘It’s common knowledge that she’s in Australia and will be filming The Voice for the next few months.’
