Bachelor Sam Wood reveals how he got back into shape after reaching for ‘processed crap’ and losing his ‘normal routine’ during Covid

Former Bachelor star Sam Wood has revealed how he got back into shape after piling on the kilos during lockdown last year.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph on Tuesday, Sam, 40, revealed how he ditched the weight with a new exercise and diet regimen.

Sam admitted he fell into the trap of eating too many sugary treats and drinking a couple of beers each night.

‘When you’re stressed and tired, I know how easy it is to reach for the processed crap and I definitely felt the impact of losing my normal routine,’ he said.

Sam admitted he hasn’t been in good shape since his daughter Charlie was born in 2019 with him in the ‘worst shape’ he had been in for years.

Sam decided to undergo a 12-week body transformation combined with a strict exercise routine to shed the excess weight.

The weight soon dropped off with Sam not owning a pair of scales so he doesn’t know his change in weight.

‘When I finally decided enough was enough I got back to basics,’ he said.

Sam is married to Snezana Wood with the pair sharing two daughters, Willow, three, and Charlie, two. Sam is also stepfather to Snezana’s daughter Eve, 15.

Snez, Sam and the girls relocated to Mount Martha, on Victoria’s upmarket Mornington Peninsula, during Melbourne’s lockdown.

A representative for the couple told Daily Mail Australia at the time the family was renting a new place due to building delays on their home near the city.

Sam and Snezana – who married in Byron Bay in 2018, three years after falling in love on The Bachelor – had been building at the time.

‘The Wood family are following the stage-four lockdown regulations,’ the representative said of the couple.

The couple jetted to Perth over Christmas.

Sam previously offered advice on how to beat the Christmas bulge while speaking to Daily Mail Australia.

‘Everything in moderation. My philosophy is Christmas is a time to really enjoy yourself. Don’t overthink it, don’t be too restrictive, don’t be too hard on yourself… but also, don’t stop moving,’ he said.
