Katie Holmes shuffles along in her Ugg boots as she catches up with pal in NYC

She is reportedly taking space from boyfriend Emilio Vitolo Jr.

And there was no sign of Katie Holmes’ younger beau as the actress caught up with a friend in New York on Tuesday.

The star, 42, was spotted shuffling around in a pair of Ugg boots and ruffled blue shorts. 

The actress wore an artistic face mask and black bucket hat atop her head, while carrying around her essentials inside a black-and-white tote.

Matching her laid-back attire, Katie had a relaxed demeanor to her as she chatted away with her masked-up pal.

Outside of her day to day life in New York, Katie has been busy filming the upcoming drama The Watergate Girl, a movie based on the bestselling autobiography The Watergate Girl: My Fight For Truth and Justice Against A Criminal President.

Katie has been so busy working on the movie that she’s reportedly turned down the heat on her relationship with chef Emilio, 33, since they were first linked in September.

The two have pumped the breaks on their romance as they focus on their numerous individual projects.

‘They’ve agreed to give each other space. They both have a lot of commitments piling up,’ a source told US Weekly last week.

While the two aren’t broken up, an inside told Page Six last month that they both had ‘a lot going on’ at the moment.

‘Katie has a lot of big priorities in her life — she’s a single mom, her daughter always comes first and things were moving very fast,’ they told the outlet.

The couple first connected in the fall and at the time the chef was engaged to Rachel Emmons. He reportedly called off that relationship via text but it had been said that things between them had been rocky for a while.

It was also added that he had preferred older women, and he and Katie became attached at the hip before going Instagram official on her birthday in December.

But a month before he professed his love for her on social media, friends were said to be growing concerned the romance was moving too fast. Katie reportedly paid no mind to them.

‘She doesn’t care what people may say about rushing into the romance. In her mind, this is the real deal, they’re riding a beautiful wave together, and she’s already decided it’s got the potential to go all the way,’ an insider told Us Weekly.

The pair was last spotted out together on March 12 and Emilio was spotted flying solo on April 20.
