Tyler Hoechlin seen in different retro-looking costume filming Superman & Lois in Vancouver

Suits you! Tyler Hoechlin shows off his bulging muscles in a different retro-looking costume while filming Superman & Lois in Vancouver

Tyler Hoechlin has been hard at work filming the first season of The CW’s Superman & Lois in Vancouver.

And the 33-year-old Road To Perdition breakout star was seen slipping into a retro superman suit while shooting scenes with co-star Bitsie Tulloch, 40, this week.

Though the series is currently on hiatus until May 18, its premiere was one of the top five most streamed CW shows and it has already been tapped for a second season.

Tyler’s more classic superman suit is different from the other more modern costume he has been seen filming in, with a few striking detail differences.

This suit features a black logo background instead of yellow, and comes with the belt attached to red hotpants — whereas the other boasts only a standalone belt.

Hoechlin had spoken about the modernized costume being ‘representative of the show,’ in a statement.

‘I find that the new suit is representative of the show. Just as this suit is unique and set apart from the ones that preceded it, the story we’re telling about Clark/Superman at this point in his life is unique and something we’ve never seen before,’ he said.

‘This is the first time you’re seeing Lois and Clark as parents, at least on screen and, and not just parents, but parents of two kids. I know in the comics it’s just the one, Jonathan Kent, and not a young kid, like how we have teenagers. That certainly sets the story apart, as a whole,’ she shared.

And on the responsibility of wearing the famous superhero suit, Tyler said it ‘belongs to everyone,’ not just him.

‘I appreciate the opportunity to wear the suit and the responsibility that comes with it. But it’s always interesting when I’m asked how I feel about “my new suit,” because I’ve always felt that the suit doesn’t belong to me; it belongs to everyone that finds some kind of meaning in that suit, in the symbol on the chest. I just happen to be the one wearing it.’
