Married At First Sight’s Bryce Ruthven ‘moving to Darwin’

Married At First Sight’s Bryce Ruthven says he’s ready to move to Darwin after doing a nightclub appearance there – but Melissa Rawson wants to stay home in Melbourne with family

Married At First Sight‘s Bryce Ruthven recently moved to Melbourne to live with his girlfriend Melissa Ruthven.

But now the radio presenter is already considering packing up and moving to Darwin after having the time of his life in the city during a paid nightclub appearance.

The couple clashed over their plans for the future in the latest episode of their chart-topping podcast What Happens After.

Distance: Married At First Sight’s Bryce Ruthven is considering moving to Darwin, despite girlfriend Melissa Ruthven’s desire to remain in Melbourne

While Bryce was keen to move to the sunny city, Melissa was adamant she didn’t like the heat and wanted to stay in Melbourne to be close to her friends and family.

‘We’ve been up here for a nightclub appearance, we were at Discovery nightclub – shout out to those guys!’ Bryce gushed.

‘Darwin knows how to party, that’s all we’ll say,’ he added.

Melissa chimed in: ‘Could I live in Darwin? It is a very small city compared to Melbourne. Melbourne’s huge.’

‘And just the lifestyle in Melbourne I’m so accustomed to, with coffee and the culture and the beaches. So Darwin would be a completely different lifestyle,’ she added.

‘I think it’s perfect for me for a holiday but it’s a bit far away from family for me I think.’

While Melissa was keen to stay put in Melbourne, Bryce was the opposite, enthusiastically saying he could easily relocate to Darwin.

‘I got here and the first thing I thought was, “I could easily live here!” The climate, the community feel,’ he said.

‘I really like living in areas that are really community based. I’ve done a lot of regional living in my 32 years and I like it.’

Bryce also revealed he’d planned to take a radio job in Darwin last year, but had to turn it down to film Married At First Sight.

‘Yeah, I don’t know if I’m ready to make the move yet,’ an uncertain Melissa replied.

‘Maybe a couple more trips and I’ll be convinced.’
