The Voice: Blake Shelton boldly predicts Cam Anthony will be ‘first superstar’ to emerge from show

Blake Shelton predicted that Cam Anthony would be the ‘first superstar’ to emerge from the NBC show as the final 17 performed during a two-hour live episode.

The 44-year-old country star made the bold statement after Cam, 19, delivered a soaring rendition of the 2013 song Take Me To Church by Irish singer-songwriter Hozier.

Blake reminded Cam that he promised to keep a lane open for him to reach this point in the competition, but the rest was up to him.

‘And you have delivered every time you stand on this stage. I’ve never had more people asking me about an artist on my team in 20 seasons of doing this show, man. You could be the first superstar that we launch off the show,’ he added.

Blake has been on The Voice since its premiere in April 2011 and has won the show a record seven times.

The live show opened with host Carson Daly, 47, revealing that Devan Blake Jones made the top 17 after winning a four-way knockout.

Devan’s win gave Nick Jonas, 28, a fifth singer going into the live playoffs while Blake, Kelly Clarkson, 39, and John Legend, 42, each had four singers remaining on their teams.
