Madeleine West has revealed the exact ‘moment her yoga superiority came crashing down.’

In a lengthy column for Nine Honey, the former Neighbours star said that after doing the practice in Byron Bay for some time, she felt like an inner-city class would be too easy for her.

But the 39-year-old was left shocked and in ‘pain’ after a grueling session in the ‘big smoke.’

Speaking about the studio she went to, Madeleine said she felt ‘a bit superior’ as she thought her centre in Byron Bay was better.

‘It just wasn’t Byron. It wasn’t the inked-up, “fresh from the beach” bronzed backpacker vegan vibe in all-natural organic-bespoke poet shirts and ironic velvet shorts look I was accustomed to,’ Madeleine said.

‘I was so very Byron, with my hand-printed T-shirt, repurposed wine bottle-now-water vessel and ”coffee in a jar cos (sic) I’m too cool for Keep Cups” vibe.’

The actress and mother-of-six said despite thinking she would be ‘underwhelmed’ by the class, that it was the ‘hardest class of her life.’

‘I was in so much pain I didn’t even think about asking for her number, let alone breathing — I was too busy shaking, aching and sweating,’ she said.

Madeleine said she learned a lesson about yoga, that it doesn’t matter where she does it or what she wears, but rather the art of it.

Back in 2016, Madeleine told the Australian Women’s Weekly that her enviable figure is all just ‘smoke and mirrors.’

‘Without my Spanx, I have no waist and without my push-up, I am less cup overfloweth, more empty windsock,’ she said at the time.

The Playing for Keeps star relocated to Byron Bay back in 2019.

In October last year, she mocked city types who move to Byron Bay, despite relocating to the coastal town herself.

She told KIIS FM’s The Kyle and Jackie O Show that Byron was filled with wannabes.

‘The thing I laugh about is the people who come from big cities to Byron and suddenly start “being Byron”,’ she said.

Madeleine explained that these people wear contrived bohemian outfits while actual Byron Bay locals just wear T-shirts and shorts.

‘They have the perfect hair, the perfect outfit and the perfect makeup,’ she added.
