Chrissy Teigen joins the chorus of voices slamming Ivanka Trump for her ‘out of touch’ post

Chrissy Teigen joined the chorus of voices taking Ivanka Trump to task over the lack of coronavirus tests available after the White House adviser shared a post about social distancing.

‘After we quote pack unquote sandwiches can we please have Covid tests,’ the Utah-born stunner, 34, wrote in response after Ivanka suggested Tuesday on social media that people should have indoor campouts while at home with their kids, as parents across the country struggle with childcare and layoffs amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The first daughter, who is working from home, posted throwback photos of the indoor campout she had with her daughter Arabella and son Joseph when they were much younger.

‘Staying home today with kids? Plan a living room camp out!’ Ivanka, 38, wrote. ‘Throw a bedsheet over some taped together brooms or a rolling rack to create a tent. Plan a menu together and ‘pack’ sandwiches, salads … whatever you enjoy.’

She continued: ‘(S’mores optional, but recommended!),’ she added, referring to a photo of a young Arabella enjoying the beloved camping treat.

Teigen, who is mother to daughter Luna, three, son Miles, one, with husband John Legend, was speaking about the country’s severe lack of testing kits for COVID-19 as it has essentially locked down to flatten the curve of the potentially-fatal virus.

The Covid Tracking Project said Wednesday that in excess of 71,000 tests had been distributed in the U.S., with 112 deaths on 7,731 positive tests.

Government officials said that plans are in the works to erect 47 drive-through sites over a dozen states, NPR reported Wednesday.

Teigen followed the tweet up with multiple emojis and added of Ivanka’s picture: ‘Also that’s a clothing rack but yeah america only understands ”taped together brooms.”

Teigen and Legend have had their past differences with Ivanka’s father, President Donald Trump, who last fall called the All of Me singer a ‘boring musician’ and Chrissy his ‘filthy mouthed wife’ after he said they didn’t properly credit him with his efforts in criminal justice reform.

She said in response, ‘Lol, what a p***y a** b****. Tagged everyone but me. An honor, Mr President.’

Ivanka’s playful photos come at a time when working parents are scrambling to find childcare as schools and childcare centers around the country close.

Major companies have begun laying off employees worldwide and a fifth of U.S. workers say that they have already lost wages due to the crisis.

Parents who are worried about how they will make ends meet in the coming weeks and months didn’t take too kindly to Ivanka making light of the situation.

‘Pretty out [of] touch,’ one person wrote. ‘Real world parents are juggling work maybe going to work sick bc they don’t have paid leave or laid off. Juggling child care from school closures & struggling to afford groceries & pay rent.’

Backlash: Critics blasted Ivanka for her 'obtuse' and 'out of touch' message

‘So while everyone scrambles to figure out daycare, bills and toilet paper, you get to play mommy,’ someone else griped. ‘Can you possibly be any more obtuse?’

‘Keep your stupid hashtag. You’re a senior WH advisor, not a lifestyle guru. Please focus on your policy work; we’re in a pandemic, FFS. Look it up,’ another added.

Others took the opportunity to remind Ivanka of her father’s controversial policies.

‘Neat Ivanka! You should definitely come to Puerto Rico,’ one person wrote ‘We’ve been playing a lot of camping out since the earthquakes. Your father threatened to veto the House aid bill. But no worries, it’s all fun and games!’

‘Awh, so cute while your father totally screws the country with his hubris and incompetence!’ another wrote.

‘Father in charge of the country & working for him with no qualifications? Don’t let him fire the pandemic response team in 2018 Don’t let him gut the CDC, NIH, and HHS Don’t let him refuse tests offered in FEBRUARY so your husband can profit off them,’ someone else commented.

Many critics also shared photos of migrant children in cages after being separated from their parents at the border as part of Trump’s immigration policies.

‘This is adorable but wouldn’t it be even more fun with chain-link fences and a concrete floor and flimsy foil blankets? And who needs s’mores when you get a cup of water every single day? #TogetherApart,’ one person tweeted sarcastically.

Ivanka is continuing to self-isolate after coming into contact with an Australian official who tested positive for the disease.

The first daughter met with Australian Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton and Attorney General Bill Barr on March 5 as part of a meeting between officials from the UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the US.

Dutton later tested positive for coronavirus.

The next day, Ivanka attended a dinner at Mar-a-Lago with her father and Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, whose aide Fabio Wajngarte tested positive.

Her husband, fellow White House senior adviser Jared Kushner, was also at the dinner.

The first daughter has not been spotted leaving her home since it was announced on Friday that she was working from her Washington, D.C residence.

It’s unclear if her three children — Arabella, eight, Joseph, six, and Theodore, three — are spending their days off from school at home with her.

Jared, however, worked at the White House on Tuesday, a senior administration official confirmed to DailyMail.com.

‘As many as people as needed are in the office,’ the official said.
