‘They tried to convince me for 12 hours’: Married At First Sight’s Connie Crayden claims producers ‘forced her to write stay’ during the commitment ceremony

Married At First Sight‘s Connie Crayden left her ‘husband’ Jonethen Musulin stunned when she wrote ‘stay’ during Wednesday night’s commitment ceremony.

And on Thursday, the 27-year-old revealed the reason why she made the decision to remain in the experiment, despite Jonethen, 27, announcing he wanted to leave.

Speaking to NW, Connie explained: ‘I was forced the write ‘stay’ [by producers] when clearly Jonnie and I were nothing more than friends.’

‘They tried to convince me for 12 hours to write ‘stay’ again. Finally they convinced me to write ‘stay’ as I felt awful holding him against his will,’ she said.

Connie went on to say that she ‘begged producers’ to let Jonethen go home but she became confused when her TV husband told her he liked her behind cameras.

She said: ‘Jonnie would tell me one thing to my face, tell me he liked me and then to the camera that he wasn’t attracted to me.’

During Wednesday night’s commitment ceremony, Jonethen announced his decision to leave the show, leaving Connie distraught.

With tears streaming down her cheeks, Connie walked outside of the room holding a  box of tissues while Jonethen followed her.

After coming back inside, she revealed she had made a ‘very last minute decision’ to stay in the experiment, leaving Jonethen stunned.

‘I’m actually speechless, to be honest. I don’t know if I haven’t been communicating properly. I don’t even know what to say,’ he laughed incredulously.

He added that he felt like he’d ‘done something wrong that could have led to this decision’ after telling Connie the previous night he wasn’t attracted to her.

But Connie insisted she was staying in the experiment for her own personal reasons, wanting to finish what she started with Jonethen.
