Noni Janur sits through coronavirus nasal swab as COVID-19 spreads across Australia  

The Bachelor‘s Noni Janur has showcased what it’s really like to be tested for the deadly coronavirus. 

In a TikTok video posted on Wednesday, the 29-year-old glamour model shared a video of herself getting a nasal swab.    

‘Just don’t hit my brain!’ joked Noni as a doctor slowly inserted a long Q-tip into her nostril. 

‘It tickles a little bit. That’s it, that’s it. Perfect,’ the doctor assured Noni as he pushed the swab in further. 

Unable to hide her discomfort, Noni closed her eyes and grimaced until the process was over.   

The COVID-19 nasal swab allows health care workers to collect secretions from the uppermost part of the throat. 

The health care worker will insert the Q-tip as far as it will go into a person’s nose, twirl it around to collect a sample, then gently remove it, and then place it into a vial. 

The swab is then sent to a lab for testing.    

There are 568 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Australia as of Thursday morning. Six people have died so far, with five in the state of New South Wales.  

Australians will face up to six months of restrictions on their everyday lives – the likes of which have not been seen since World War 2 – as the country hunkers down to battle the coronavirus. 

On Wednesday, Scott Morrison also announced a ban on gatherings of more than 100 people and advised against all overseas travel – marking the first time in Australia’s history that the government has told citizens not to go to any country. 

He also encouraged people to practice social distancing, and to maintain a 1.5 metre distance when possible.
