Sarah Michelle Gellar gets her caffeine fix on in Brentwood after joking she ‘survived’ homeschooling her two kids under quarantine

Sarah Michelle Gellar appeared to be enjoying her summer freedom, after announcing she ‘survived’ homeschooling her two kids on Thursday. 

The 43-year-old Emmy winner appeared in good spirits, as she emerged from Blue Bottle Coffee in Brentwood with her hands full of beverages and a pastry box. 

For her coffee run, the Cruel Intentions actress donned a grey hoodie, aviator sunglasses and a pair of form-fitting black leggings.

Following Los Angeles’ requirement for residents to wear facial coverings inside business establishments, Gellar dutifully sported a blue and white plaid mask to cover her mouth and nose.  

While her expression was hidden under her shades and face mask, the star vocalized her excitement over that her seven-year-old Rocky and her daughter Charlotte, ten,  graduating from their respective grades on day prior. 

‘So there’s been a lot going on in the world. In my house, there have been a lot of emotions, discussions, and listening,’ she captioned a picture of herself holding a sign that said read: ‘I survived homeschooling my kids sip at a time!’

She noted: ”But this also happened. It has not been an easy 12 weeks. I’m proud of myself, and my kids. I want to thank all their incredible teachers, that held my hand through the process. And now that school is done, the real education begins. For myself and my kids.’

Gellar was referring to the past two weeks of historic, change-making Black Lives Matter protests stemming from the May 25 murder of George Floyd by four Minneapolis policemen.

In addition to her kids, the Foodstirs co-founder has also been quarantined with her husband of 17 years, Freddie Prinze Jr.

‘This is definitely the most anxiety and uncertainty that I’ve ever experienced,’ Sarah told E! News last month. 

‘I’ve been exercising every day…I’ve been reading a lot…and I’m taking full advantage of being home with my kids and getting extra hugs and snuggles and love and appreciating this time. I’m reminding myself every day why we’re [staying at home] and who we’re doing it for.’

Coming up for Gellar is her role in Eternos Captain of the Royal Guard Teela on Netflix’s spin-off Masters of the Universe: Revelation, which starts streaming in summer 2021.
