Khloe Kardashian seems to puts Tristan Thompson engagement rumors to bed in a series of tweets

Khloe Kardashian is setting the record straight… kind of.

On Thursday night, the newly-turned 36-year-old reality star signed on to Twitter and seemingly addressed recent rumors of her being engaged to on-again-off-again beau and baby daddy, Tristan Thompson.

In a series of tweets, Khloe said: ‘Wait… what? lol’ followed by, ‘I just came online and I’m even confused lol. Basically my daily thoughts about 2020. But for real… wtf lol people just be talking.’

The rumors of a rekindling between the pair resurfaced when Tristan, 29, jumped the gun on Khloe’s birthday last week. 

He shared a picture of the pair laughing on their backs on the trampoline with their daughter True, two, along with a very heartfelt message that included the phrase, ‘you came into my life to show me just what it means to be an incredible person’. 

Rumors naturally hit fever pitch when Khloe appeared in flashy party pictures earlier this week with an enormous rock on her ring finger, which more than caught the attention of everyone from Foodgod to her Twitter followers. 

But on Thursday night, she kept shutting the engagement gossip down, with another tweet that offered a potential reason for all the speculation: ‘Quarantine has us all going [crazy face emojis]’

Nonetheless, there have been reports that the pair, who have been isolating together in Kardashian’s California mansion, are giving their relationship another go.

And when Khloe celebrated her birthday with a small gathering of family and close friends on Monday, Tristan was among the guests.

At the extravagant pink-themed bash, Khloe and Tristan ‘acted like were back together,’ an insider told People. 

Then, on Wednesday, another source told People that the pair were ‘giving their relationship another try.’

The couple broke up last year following several cheating scandals, but have remained on good terms as they co-parent True. 

People’s source said on Wednesday that ‘Tristan is working hard to prove himself and has been a great dad to True’, which appeared to have swayed Khloe into giving him another chance.

Earlier in the month, an insider told the site that ‘lockdown made them closer’, and Khloe had been ‘charmed’ by his good behavior.

The insider added: ‘She isn’t dating anyone else. They hadn’t spent this much time together since they lived in Cleveland. They have had an amazing spring with True in LA.’

However, a source later told UsWeekly that they are ‘not engaged.’ 

And on Friday morning, Khloe appeared to have moved on from those rumors, with a pair of Instagram Stories all about self-empowerment and ‘focus[ing] on myself’.  

Tristan and Khloe went public with their romance in September 2016, and in December 2017, Khloe announced she was pregnant and she moved to Cleveland to be with her beau.

However, two days before she gave birth to their daughter on April 12, 2018, photos emerged of Tristan getting close to a mystery woman at a New York nightclub and old surveillance footage also surfaced showing him getting affectionate with two women at a hookah lounge in Washington, D.C.

The Cleveland Cavaliers player was hit by a further five claims of infidelity during Khloe’s pregnancy.

While the pair worked on the relationship for the next nine months, things became unstuck once again in February 2019, when Tristan was caught out kissing sister Kylie Jenner’s best friend, Jordyn Woods, at a house party.

Tristan and Khloe split almost immediately after.

Although they took some time to work through their break up, Khloe and Tristan have gone from strength to strength in the year that has followed.

They have had fans speculating over their relationship status, with Tristan leaving flirty comments on Khloe’s Instagram and Khloe revealing she’s freezing embryos to have a second baby with Tristan being the sperm donor.

Tristan told Khloé on KUWTK in April he was ‘on board’ with being her future sperm donor and Khloe seemed to refuse rule out a reconciliation.
