Courtney Hope reveals she’s leaving The Bold and the Beautiful

CBS’ long-running soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful is saying goodbye to actress Courtney Hope, who is leaving the show after three years.

The 30-year-old actress has played Sally Spectra on the show since 2017, though she announced on Instagram Tuesday that her leaving was, ‘An abrupt ending to a monumental journey.’

The actress did not go into specifics behind the exit, but she said on her Instagram story that she was ‘shocked like everyone else’ about the exit.

‘The last three years have been amazing, and though I do not know what the future holds this chapter of Sally has sadly come to an end,’ Hope said.

‘I love my @boldandbeautifulcbs cast and crew and will miss everyone dearly, but await the day we may all play again,’ she added.

‘Some things are out of our control, and I thank the fans for your support through it all!’ the actress said.

The Bold and the Beautiful was one of the first TV shows to resume production after filming was halted industry-wide in March due to COVID-19.

 While filming resumed in June, they went on a short break one day after filming resumed for more testing, but they have been filming regularly since then.

New episodes of the soap opera, which debuted in 1987, started airing on July 20, with fans airing their displeasure over the direction of Hope’s Sally Spectra.

Just before production was shut down, fans were disappointed in Sally’s storyline, where it was revealed she was faking a terminal illness, according to Soaps.com

Hope is attached to star in the upcoming horror film 13 Bumps, which is currently in pre-production.

She also starred in A Merry Christmas Match and voiced Jesse Faden in the video game Control last year.
