The sports star’s parents, Peter and Gillian Smith, have lived in the property since moving in with five-year-old Steven in 1994.

Steve, now 30, also lived in the home wth his older sister, Kristie.

While Steve’s childhood home boasts an impressive five bedrooms, it was likely the backyard space that kept him entertained growing up.

Old photographs show the youngster with a cricket bat at an early age on the grassy lawn at the suburban address.

In 2017, Steve even released his autobiography, titled: ‘The Journey: My Story, from Backyard Cricket to Australian Captain.’

The former Australian cricket captain hit headlines in 2018, after he was involved in the ball-tampering scandal that shocked the nation.

The family originally bought the large property from a developer in 1994 for $170,000, according to CoreLogic data. However, it’s believed Steve’s parents are now wanting to downsize to a smaller home.

Peter and Gillian Smith are believed to have built a new house on New South Wales’ south coast.

The couple previously organised an auction in March for their Alfords Point property, but due to the coronavirus pandemic it was cancelled.

An auction for Steve Smith’s childhood home is due to take place on June 13.
