The Bachelorette suffers from lowest finale ratings EVER

The Bachelorette suffers its lowest finale ratings EVER as just 500,000 viewers tune in to see Elly and Becky Miles choose their winning suitors

The Bachelorette’s season six finale has pulled in the lowest ratings in the history of the franchise.

Thursday night’s episode attracted just 500,000 metro viewers, briefly peaking at 573,000 viewers for the final decision.

It’s the lowest rated finale ever, and fell way below Locky Gilbert’s finale of The Bachelor, which peaked at 879,000 viewers.

Thursday’s ending saw Becky pick Pete Mann while Elly chose Frazer Neate.

Unfortunately, Becky split from Pete days after filming the finale, while Elly seems to be loosely dating Frazer for now.

The season was branded ‘boring’ by many viewers and continually drew in disappointing ratings since the premiere.

Earlier this week, one of the franchise’s most recognisable stars admitted that he was not even watching the show – and had tuned into the U.S. version instead.

Jake Ellis shot to fame on Georgia Love’s season of The Bachelorette in 2016 before spending two seasons on Bachelor In Paradise.

Speaking to Now To Love, the 33-year-old admitted that he wasn’t watching The Bachelorette this year, even though it’s usually appointment television for him.

‘I usually do, but I haven’t really been watching The Bachelorette, the new one,’ he confessed.

‘I’ve actually been watching the American one and it is way more dramatic.’

The current season of The Bachelorette U.S. has been billed as ‘the most dramatic’ in the show’s sixteen seasons.

Not only does it feature the oldest ever lead in 39-year-old Clare Crawley, in a shocking turn of events, Clare is set to be replaced midseason.

According to reports, Clare fell in love with contestant Dale Moss early in the season, forcing producers to replace her with Bachelor In Paradise star Tayshia Adams.

Tayshia, 30, will also become the second ever black Bachelorette in the show’s history.

The ratings for the show have been strong so far, unlike the ratings for the Australian version on Channel 10.

One episode of the season, which stars sisters Elly and Becky Miles, reached just 464,000 viewers – the lowest in the franchise’s history.

In the wake of the bad ratings, 10 have confirmed that the spin-off Bachelor In Paradise won’t return next year for a fourth season.
