But on Friday, the Big Brother host offered an insight to her relationship with her partner of 12 years, Channel Seven producer, Craig McPherson.

The 54-year-old told the Not Here To Make Friends podcast that her relationship was ‘awkward’ before she left Channel Nine to work at the same network as Craig, Seven.

‘It’s really nice to be barracking for the same team again because it can get awkward,’ she said.

‘Like when you say, ‘Yay! My team won!’ But to be on the same side again is a good thing.’

Sonia says that Craig loves her show, Big Brother, and tunes in regularly.

‘I watch him while he watches Big Brother just to get his reaction because he’s kind of not really the target audience.

‘But he’s really been into it. That’s the worst thing – I’ve seen him chuckle to himself,’ she joked.

The TV personality went on to reveal that there is a TV in every room of her $6.5 million Mosman, Sydney home.

‘If there’s a room without a TV in it, it doesn’t get used!’ If there’s a TV, we’re going into that room!’ Sonia told the podcast.

Sonia and Craig have been dating since 2008, and share daughter Maggie, 5, who was conceived through IVF when Sonia was 49 years old.

The former Today Extra host has in the past said that she wants mothers to know it was not a ‘miracle pregnancy’ because she used the eggs of a younger donor.

‘My doctor was very clear about my chances of getting pregnant through IVF. [If I used my own eggs], he told me statistically my chances of success were zero,’ she told News Corp

Sonia added: ‘He said no woman aged 45 or over had been successful in carrying a baby to term using her own eggs.

‘It was my decision to proceed as I hoped with all my heart I might be able to beat the odds.’
