Robbie Williams reveals he has bought a phone for the first time in 14 YEARS but admits wife Ayda Field thinks he’s ‘on it too much’

Robbie Williams has bought himself a phone for the first time in 14 years.

The Angels hitmaker, 46, revealed to fans during an Instagram live video this week that he had decided to make the change after first getting rid of his phone in 2006 because he didn’t like having it.

Admitting that wife Ayda Field wasn’t too happy with how long he spends on his new device, he told fans: ‘I have a phone now, because I didn’t have a phone for a long time. Last night my wife said, “You’re on your phone too much,” and she’s right.

‘So now I’ve got to get off my phone, even though I’m on it now, and then I’ve got to find out what I’m now going to be addicted to, my new addiction.

‘As long as it’s not pills or booze or powders, I don’t care. There has to be something. I put one fire out and another comes up.’

During a late-night Instagram Live, which was views by The Sun, he went on to admit: ‘I read the comments and they affect me.’

Ayda and Robbie are parents to their four children, Theodora, seven, Charlton, five, 20 months and four-month-old baby Beau, who they have been isolating with amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Last week, Ayda ruled out any reality TV shows focusing on their family in the foreseeable future in order to protect their four children.

Ayda has shared that she wants to ‘protect’ their children and that it would be ‘unfair’ to throw them into the spotlight.

Addictive: Of his concerns, Robbie added 'Now I've got to get off my phone, even though I'm on it now, and then I've got to find out what I'm now going to be addicted to, my new addiction'

However, the star admitted that she would ‘never say never’ after various offers but insisted that it is ‘not on the deck’ just yet.

Talking to The Sun, she said: ‘I would never say never to it and it’s been brought up to us before. But right now our privacy and protecting the kids is important to us. So it’s not on the deck yet.

‘The kids are not even old enough to know what the ramifications of that might be. It would be unfair to make that choice for them and there’s a lot of adult things that come with exposure.

‘You have to take all that on, the good and the bad. I don’t want to put them in that position.’

It comes after Robbie revealed to The Sun in 2018 that he was planning his own reality series with his wife, Ayda, and his mother-in-law Gwen.

The star shared that if plans went ahead, the trio would star in a fly-on-the-wall series after going viral several times over their hilarious past social media updates.
